What are the common faults of aluminum anti-theft doors?

As a vital line of defense for a home, aluminum anti-theft doors are bound to encounter some common faults during long-term use. Understanding the manifestations and causes of these faults can help us identify and address problems in a timely manner.

Lock malfunctions are one of the more common issues. Problems may arise such as the inability to insert the key into the lock cylinder, difficulty in turning the key after insertion, or the inability to remove the key. The inability to insert the key into the lock cylinder may be due to obstructions within the lock cylinder, such as dust or metal shavings. Difficulty in turning the key may be caused by rust inside the lock cylinder or insufficient lubrication. The inability to remove the key may indicate a fault with the internal spring or latch of the door lock.

Hinge faults can also affect the normal use of the door. Loose hinges can lead to an increased gap between the door panel and the door frame, causing the door panel to sag and making the door difficult to open and close smoothly. This is usually due to loose hinge screws or damage to the hinges themselves.

Door body deformation is another common fault of aluminum anti-theft doors. Over time, factors such as repeated external impacts, temperature changes, or improper installation can cause the door body to bend or dent. Deformation of the door body not only affects its appearance but can also reduce the seal between the door panel and the door frame, thereby affecting the door’s sound insulation and thermal insulation properties.

Aging and detachment of the sealing gasket is also a problem that should not be overlooked. Exposed to the air for a long time, the sealing gasket is subject to the effects of ultraviolet rays, temperature, and humidity, gradually aging, hardening, losing elasticity, and even falling off. This can lead to air leaks and water leaks at the door seams, reducing the door’s sealing performance.

When aluminum anti-theft doors experience the above faults, they should be dealt with promptly. For lock malfunctions, one can first try to clean the lock cylinder or add lubricating oil. If the problem persists, consider replacing the door lock. Loose hinges can be tightened by screwing the screws. If the hinges are damaged, new hinges should be installed. For minor door body deformation, one can attempt to adjust the position of the door panel. In severe cases of deformation, professional repair or replacement of the door panel may be necessary. When the sealing gasket ages and falls off, it is important to replace it with a new one to ensure the door’s sealing performance.
